The Rocky Necropolis of Pantalica are a naturalistic and archaeological site of the province of Syracuse. The name of the site seems to derive from the arabic word Buntarigah, which means “caves”, for the obvious presence of many natural and artificial cavities on the slopes.

It’s one of Sicily’s most important protohistoric places. Here you will find canyons to visit, in which resides the river Anapo, completely surrounded by paths that will allow you to cross it over points and to walk through tunnels dug into the rock.
